IAC BOYS BOWLING: WAVERLY ROLLS SEASON-HIGH LEAGUE SERIES IN SWEEP OF WATKINS GLEN

WAVERLY - Freshman Zach Vanderpool banged out a 700 series, and senior Derrick Canfield and junior Matt Mauersberg each rolled 600 series as Waverly established the new team high series in the IAC this season in its sweep of Watkins Glen here Monday afternoon in boys bowling action at the Valley Bowling Center.
The Wolverines also established the league's new high-game in a 1,156-772 win in the first game, then followed it up with wins of 1,039-686, and 1,021-811 for a total-pinfall victory of 3,216 to 2,269.
Vanderpool rolled a 724 series on games of 267, 236, and 221, while Canfield rolled a season-high 682 on games of 266, 205, and 211, and Mauersberg shot a career-high 637 on games of 244, 199, and 194.
Sophomore Cody Blackwell shot a 592, including a 214 high game, while freshman Ashton Pritchard added a 581, including games of 214 and 202, and 8th-grader Carter Hayes tacked on a 408.
Matt Irwin led Watkins Glen with a 591 series.
Waverly returns to action Tuesday at Lansing.
