SAYRE — Ty Barrrett pumped in 27 points to lead Troy to a 56-46 win over Sayre here Friday night in NTL Boys basketball action.

“Ty Barrett is having a great year, and is a tough match-up for anyone,” he noted. “There is always room for improvement, but I think we started to play more a little more as a ‘team’ tonight.

“I’m proud of the fight our team had tonight and they gave it everything they have,” added Shaw. “This game was good for us, and it will make us better throughout the rest of the year.”

Barrett scored 13 points in the first quarter, and Mason Imbt added five as the Trojans built an early 20-13 lead.

Using a balanced scoring attack and solid defense in the middle two quarters, the Redskins trimmed the deficit to 28-23 at the half, and 39-36 heading into the final eight minutes.
