IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: DELHI PULLS AWAY EARLY IN 67-37 DEFEAT OF WINLESS TIOGA (2020-01-11)

TIOGA CENTER "" Delhi blew the game open before the halftime intermission here Saturday afternoon in a 67-37 win over Tioga in IAC Small School boys basketball action.

Alex Haight pumped in 12 points in the first quarter to help Delhi to a 21-8 lead after the first eight minutes, then scored 10 more points in the second quarter to fuel an 18-2 blitz that gave the Bulldogs a 39-10 lead at the halftime intermission.

Tyler Bruce knocked down a pair of 3-pointers, and scored 10 points in the third quarter as the Bulldogs pushed their lead to 36 points, at 61-25, heading into the final eight minutes.

Senior Sam Taylor scored 19 points and knocked down five 3-pointers to lead the Tigers, while junior Derrick Gage added six points, and sophomore Gavin Godfrey chipped in with four points.

Haight led Delhi with 24 points, and Bruce added 16.

Tioga, now 0-8, hosts Notre Dame Tuesday.
