Valley Sports ReportSAYRE "” Towanda raced out to a big lead early, and cruised to a 57-24 win over Sayre here Monday night in NTL girls basketball action.
Porschia Bennett scored 11 points in the first quarter to fuel a 21-2 run for the Lady Black Knights.
Towanda stretched its lead to 32-8 at the half, then to 50-15 entering the final eight minutes.
Senior Emily Sutryk led Sayre with 19 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, and four steals, while junior Gabbi Randall added five points, a career-high 21 rebounds, and two assists, senior Maddie LaManna had five boards and two assists, senior Maddy Wilson grabbed five boards, and freshman Gabby Shaw chipped in with four rebounds.
Bennett led Towanda with 25 points and Paige Manchester added 11.
Sayre, now 3-12, returns to action Wednesday at NEB.
