TROY "” Troy jumped out to an early lead, built a big lead, and held off a late rally in a 36-28 win over Athens here Tuesday evening in NTL Large School Division junior varsity boys basketball action.

The junior Trojans led 13-5 after the first eight minutes, and 23-11 at the half.

After extending the lead to 32-15 entering the final eight minutes, Luke Kraft buried a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter for Athens, and Jonathan Smith added a trey and five points in a 13-4 run that provided the final margin.

Jonathan Smith led Athens with nine points, while Kraft and Carson Smith added six points apiece, and Chris Mitchell chipped in with five points.

Athens returns to action Thursday when it hosts North Penn-Mansfield.
