IAC BOWLING: TIOGA BOYS SWEEP SHORT-HANDED EDISON; LADY TIGERS SWEPT (2020-01-23)
Valley Sports ReportELMIRA HEIGHTS "” The Tioga boys posted a sweep of short-handed Thomas A. Edison, while the Lady Tigers were swept here Thursday afternoon in IAC bowling action at Rossi Lanes.
BOYS
Tioga 4, Edison 0Junior Kolton Pond and freshman Gage Cain led Tioga to a sweep of Edison, which had just two bowlers.
Pond rolled a 569 series, including a 212 in the second game, and Cain shot a 562, including a 202 in the second game.
Sophomore Dylan Slater shot a 541, including a 228 in the second game, for the Tigers, while junior Rocco Fariello rolled a 514, freshman Frank Chapman added a 385, and sophomore Alex MIddendorf tacked on a 335.
Senior Ty Middendorf had a 390 in reserve for Tioga, and sophomore Jarrett Myers had a 376.
Robert French led Edison with a 505 series.
GIRLS
Edison 4, Tioga 0The Lady Spartans won the first game 606-590, then won the next two by scores of 646-603, and 660-542 for a total-pinfall victory of 1,912 to 1,735.
Senior Bailey Elston led Tioga with a 377 series, while senior Mackenzie Macumber shot a 352, and junior Cassie Birney had a 339.
Freshman Jaime Card had a 330 for the Lady Tigers, while freshman BobbiJo Tarbox added a 315, and junior Destini Sweet tacked on a 298.
Junior Millie Grantham rolled a 417 in reserve for Tioga.
Elizabeth Kelley rolled a 493 to lead Edison, and Sidney Cooper had a 467.
Tioga hosts Candor Tuesday.
