GROTON "” The Small School Division champion Tioga boys won just one point, while the Lady Tigers were swept by Groton here Thursday afternoon in IAC Small School Division bowling action at Corona Lanes.

BOYS
Groton 3, Tioga 1

Groton won a 3-1 decision, thanks in part to a five-point victory in the first game.

Groton won the opener, 884-879, and followed it up with a 965-855 win in the second game. Tioga won the third game, 888-853, but the Indians held on to the total-pinfall point by a margin of 2,702 to 2,622.

Junior Kolton Pond led Tioga with a 593 series, including games of 223 and 232, while sophomore Rocco Fariello shot a 536, including a 201 in the first game, and sophomore Jarrett Myers had a 492, including a 217 in the third game.

Sophomore Dylan Slater shot a 488 for the Tigers, while freshman Gage Cain added a 476, and freshman Frank Chapman tacked on a 437.

Fred Hulbert led Groton with a 616 series, and Cam Hamilton rolled a 573.

GIRLS
Groton 4, Tioga 0

The Lady Indians rolled to a sweep of Tioga, winning the total-pinfall tally by a margin of 1,955 to 1,769.

Senior Mackenzie Macumber led Tioga with a 444 series, while sophomore Millie Grantham had a 340, and junior Destini Sweet shot a 337.

Junior Cassie Birney rolled a 321 for the Lady Tigers, while freshman Bobbi Jo Tarbox added a 3-3 and freshman Caroline Chapman tacked on a 299.

Madison Parker led Groton with a 501 series.

Tioga travels to Dryden Tuesday in a match that will not be scored for the team standings, but will be used for individual averages.
