IAC GIRLS BOWLING: WAVERLY ENDS REGULAR SEASON WITH SWEEP OF WATKINS GLEN (2020-02-04)
Valley Sports ReportWATKINS GLEN "” Waverly used balanced scoring to pull out a 4-0 decision in the regular-season finale against Watkins Glen here Tuesday afternoon in IAC Large School Division girls bowling action at Harborside Lanes.
The Lady Wolverines won the first game 809-752, then won the final two games by scores of 669-654 and 655-605 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,133 to 2,011.
Eighth-grader Rachel Houseknecht led Waverly with a 481 series, while freshman Victoria Houseknecht shot a 442, and freshman Shantilly Decker had a 406.
Senior Sadie VanAllen had a 388 in the win, while senior Megan Lee added a 377, and senior Morgan Lee chipped in with a 333.
Ava Cowan led Watkins Glen with a match-high 516 series.
Waverly finishes the regular season with a 41-7 record, and will return to action Saturday at the IAC Championships at the Valley Bowling Center. Start time is 1 p.m.
