IAC BOYS & GIRLS BOWLING: TIOGA WRAPS UP REGUALR SEASON WITH WINS OVER DRYDEN (2020-02-05)

WAVERLY "” The Tioga boys and girls teams wrapped up the regular-season with a crossover match against Dryden here Tuesday afternoon in IAC bowling action.

The match did not count toward team standings, but did count toward season average for the individuals.

BOYS
Tioga 3, Dryden 1

Freshman Gage Cain and senior Kolton Pond led Tioga in a 3-1 win over Dryden in the boys match.

The Purple Lions won the first game 929-885, but the Tigers bounced back with wins of 944-767 and 997-775 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,826 to 2,471.

Cain led Tioga with a 598 series, including a 213 in the first game, and Pond rolled a 590, including a 226 in the second game.

Sophomore Dylan Slater shot a 558, including a 201 in the third game, for Tioga, while sophomore Rocco Fariello had 549, including a 225 in the third game, sophomore Jarrett Myers added a 531series, and freshman Frank Chapman tacked on a 420 series.

Eddy Pietrasz led Dryden with a 568 series, including a 234 in the first game.

GIRLS
Tioga 4, Dryden 0

Senior Mackenzie Macomb and freshman Caroline Chapman led Tioga to a 4-0 win over a short-handed Dryden team in the girls match.

Macumber shot a 425 series, while Chapman had a 411, and senior Bailey Elston rolled a 382.

Junior Cassie Birney had a 369 series for the Lady Tigers, while junior Destini Sweet added a 336, and sophomore Millie Grantham tacked on a 332.

Stella Becraft, Dryden's lone bowler, shot a 323.

Tioga returns to action Saturday at the IAC Championships at the Valley Bowling Center. Start time is 1 p.m.
