Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY - Basketball once again takes center stage, with the Waverly and Tioga girls at home to headline a light Tuesday night of action.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Binghamton at Waverly (13-3), 5:30 p.m. JV start: The Lady Wolverines are coming off a 59-35 win over Thomas A. Edison Thursday at Elmira's First Arena,
Marathon (8-8) at Tioga (7-11), 5:30 p.m. JV start: The Lady Tigers are coming off a 58-52 win over S-VE Monday night, while the Lady Olympians knocked off Moravia, 34-26, Friday.
Tioga needs a win tonight, or Wednesday when it hosts Towanda, to qualify for the upcoming Section IV, Class C playoffs.
Last year, Tioga won at Marathon, 59-43.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Tioga (5-14) at Marathon (14-2), 5:30 p.m. JV start: The Tigers are coming off a 56-37 loss at S-VE Monday, while the state-ranked Olympians (6th in Class D) edged arch-rival Moravia, 53-51, Saturday.
Last year, Tioga topped Marathon, 61-51.
