SECTION IV BOYS BOWLING: TIOGA FINISHES FOURTH AT CLASS D CHAMPIONSHIPS (2020-02-16)
Valley Sports ReportVESTAL "” All five of Tioga's bowlers, led by junior Kolton Pond, finished in the top 25 to help the Tigers to a fourth-place finish here Saturday at the Section IV, Class D boys bowling championships at Midway Lanes.
Hancock won the Class D title with a three-game set of 3,006, well ahead of runner-up Unadilla Valley, which rolled a 2,830, and third-place Bainbridge-Guilford, which had a 2,657. Tioga tallied, 2,621 pins, and Notre Dame was fifth with a 2,431 series.
Hancock's Tyler Allen won individual Class D gold with a 688 series, edging silver medalist Kody Floyd of Candor by one pin. Unadilla Valley's Colin Grant won the bronze medal with a 649 series.
Pond rolled a 586 series to finish seventh in the individual standings, while sophomore Jarrett Myers shot a 542 to tie for 15th, and sophomore Dylan Slater had a 514 to finish 19th.
Freshman Gage Cain had a 494 series to finish 23rd, and sophomore Rocco Fariello was 24th with a 485 series.
Tioga will be in action Friday in the State Qualifier at the Valley Bowling Center.
