PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Waverly grad Brendyn Stillman, a junior on the St. Bonaventure baseball team, launched another home run, and Sayre grad Matt Williams had another hit, but the Bonnies dropped a pair of decisions last week in non-league action over the weekend.
On Friday, Stillman was 1-for-2 with his sixth home run of the young season. He was also walked twice, while Williams, a junior, was 0-for-4 in a 6-1 loss to Illinois-Chicago.
On Saturday, Williams singled and scored one run in a 3-2 loss to Western Michigan. Stillman was 0-for-4 with one walk, and Tioga grad Pierce Hendershot walked in his only plate appearance.
On the season, Stillman is hitting .519 (14 hits in 27 ABs) in seven games, with two doubles, six home runs, 13 RBI, and 11 runs scored. He has also walked five times, and struck out just four times.
Williams, also in seven games, is hitting .310 (9 hits in 29 ABs) with two doubles, one home run, five RBI, and four runs scored. He has walked twice and struck out just once.
Williams has also played a flawless first base, with no errors on 58 total defensive chances.
Hendershot has appeared in five games, and is 0-for-3 with two base on balls.
St. Bonaventure's weekend series at Maryland-Eastern Shore has been canceled.
