Matt Williams, a junior on the St. Bonaventure baseball team, and Tioga grad
Pierce Hendershot, a freshman, both earned inclusion on the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for their success academically in 2019-20.
The Valley duo was part of a school-record total of 247 St. Bonaventure athletes to earn the honors. The baseball team had 22 student-athletes recognized. The total represents 80 percent of the school's athletes.
To qualify for the Commissioner's Honor Roll a student-athlete must have a 3.0 year-long GPA and compete in an A-10 sponsored sport. Freshmen and graduate students are eligible.
Williams posted a career-high .310 batting average (9 hits in 29 ABs) during the abbreviated spring season, with two doubles, one home run, five RBI and four runs scored. He also recorded a .375 on-base percentage.
Williams also posted a perfect season at first base, handling 59 defensive chances without an error.
Hendershot, who was hit by a pitch in one of his first plate appearances, saw limited action. He walked twice and was 0-for-3.
