WAVERLY - The Tomasso's Restaurant & Golf Course / Williams Toyota Blue Jays scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to complete a frantic comeback from a nine-run deficit in a wild, 14-13, win over the Naglee Moving & Storage / Becky's Diner Angels here Friday night in the final game of the regular season in Waverly Little League Majors Division baseball action.

The Blue Jays finish the regular season at 4-6, and will face the Indians in the semifinals, while the Angles (0-10) take on the Pirates (4-6) Saturday at noon in the opening round of the playoffs.

The Angels scored nine runs in the top of the first inning in a rally that featured seven bassoon balls, one error and just two hits - a single by Daniel Campbell and an and RBI single by Luciano Thomas to make it 7-0.

The Blue Jays answered with four runs in the home half of the inning. Brandon Bennett capped the rally with a two-run single.

Three more walks and an RBI single by Elijah Hobday gave the Angels a 10-4 lead after 1 1/2 innings, but Charan Venkataswamy scampered home on a wild pitch in the bottom of the frame to make it 10-5.

Alex McQuay and Karson Sipley hit back-to-back double to lead off the home half of the third, and the Jays added a run on a double-play ball to trim the deficit to 10-7.

Porter Daddona caped a three-run rally in the top of the fourth inning that extended the Angels' lead to 13-7, but Cooper Robinson scored on a wild pitch, and McQuay crossed the plate on a dropped third strike in the bottom of the inning to cut the deficit to 13-9.

With the score 13-10 in the bottom of the fifth, Lucas Pradun drilled a two-run single to center field, and Venkataswamy scooted home on a passed ball moments later to tie the game at 13-13.

McQuay then delivered the go-ahead run with a single to the left side of the infield.

Hobday led off the top of the sixth with a double, but was cut down trying to stretch it into a triple by Sipley's throw from center field. After issuing a walk, the Jays' third pitcher, Derek Johnson, retied the last two batters to preserve the win.

McQuay had three hits, including a double, scored two runs, and drove in two runs to lead the Blue Jays' nine-hit attack, while Robinson tripled and scored four runs, and Venkataswamy singled, scored three runs, and had two RBI.

Pradun singled, scored one run, and drove in three runs in the win, while Sipley doubled, scored one run, and knocked in one run, Bennett singled and drove in two runs, Johnson singled and scored one run, and Caden Vanderhoof and Rylan Yeakel each crossed the plate once.

Johnson earned the win, allowing one hit and striking out one in 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Bennett pitched four innings, allowing four runs on four hits, while striking out eight and walking six.

Hobday doubled and singled, scored one run, and had two RBI to lead the Angels at the plate, while Luciano Thomaso singled, scored two runs, and knocked in two runs, Jesse Gennarelli singled, scored one run, and drove in one run, Porter Daddona doubled and drove in one run, and Daniel Campbell singled and scored one run.

Logan Roskow scored two runs and drove in one run for the Angels, Gianni Thomas scored two runs, and Jaxon Chandler and Isaac Roy crossed the plate once.
