THE VALLEY - The start of the high school football season highlights the weekly schedule, which is still not finalized.

The only confirmed events of the week is the Rusty Rail football game, and the second NTL golf match of the season. Events could be added to the schedule.

TUESDAY
"¢  The Sayre and Athens golf teams look to improve on their season-opening finishes at Corey Creek Country Club in Mansfield. Sayre finished fourth, and Athens seventh in the season-opener at the Towanda Country Club Thursday.

FRIDAY
"¢  Sayre invades Athens' Alumni Stadium for the annual Rusty Rail game, riding a two-game win streak in the annual rivalry contest.

The Wildcats, who won 17 in a row in the rivalry, lead the series, 17-3, since the inception of the Rusty Rail. The Redskins lead the overall rivalry 61-48.10.
