NTL CROSS COUNTRY: SAYRE'S CLAYPOOL EARNS WIN IN FIRST MEET OF SEASON (2020-09-15)

WYALUSING "” Coming off two major knee surgeries in the last three years, senior Carrie Claypool opened the 2020 season with a win here Tuesday afternoon in a double-dual NTL cross country meet.

The Lady Redskins dropped a 20-42 decision to Wyalusing, and a 20-43 decision to Wellsboro.

Claypool clocked in at 22:15, besting Wyalusing's Carina Beebe (22:38), Kayla Beebe (22:38), Sierra Allen (23:03, and Catherine Brown (23:20), who finished second through fifth, respectively.

Sayre's Corey Ault finished eighth against Wyalusing and ninth against Wellsboro with a time of 29:00.

Maddie Bryant clocked in at 23:45 to lead Wellsboro.

Wyalusing 15, Sayre 50
Nate Romano, Sayre's lone runner, finished eighth against Wyalusing, and third against Wellsboro, which only had three runners. He clocked in at 22:32.

Sayre dropped a 15-50 decision to Wyalusing.
