NTL GOLF: SAYRE DUO SHOOTS SEASON-BEST ROUNDS; ATHENS FINISHES FOURTH (2020-09-15)

WESTFIELD, Pa. - Sayre juniors Kannon VanDuzer and Dylan Seck each shot season-best rounds, and Athens had a season-best finish here Tuesday afternoon in NTL golf action at the River Valley Golf Course.

VanDuzer, who had one birdie and 10 pars, carded a season-low round of 80 to finish third on the day - one shot behind North Penn-Mansfield sophomore Andrew Green, and Wellsboro senior Brock Hamblin.

Seck, who also carded one birdie, shot an 85 and finished seventh.

The Redskins, playing without two starters, finished seventh as a team. Senior Zach Moore shot a 117, and senior Travis Wibirt tacked on a 144.

Athens finished fourth on the day with a four-player aggregate score of 386. North Penn-Mansfield remained unbeaten, taking first with a 332, while Wellsboro was second with 352, and Cowanesque Valley was third with a 381.

Towanda finished fifth on the day with a 402, while Wyalusing was sixth with a 411, and Sayre was seventh with a 426.

Sophomore Cameron Sullivan finished 10th with a round of 90 to lead the Wildcats, and sophomore Carson Smith was 12th with a round of 92.

Sophomore Lucas Kraft shot a 100 for Athens, while senior Carter Jones carded a 104. Seniors Harley Sullivan and Luke Jones added non-scoring rounds of 112. Freshmen Nicholas Jacob and Evan Cooper shot nine-hole exhibition scores of 52 and 53, respectively.
