YOUTH BASEBALL: HIGH HEAT'S HUTCHINGS TO HELP FORM 12U TEAM IN VALLEY (2020-09-20)

Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY "” High Heat Baseball Academy founder Andy Hutchings is looking to get more involved with the talent in the Valley, starting with the formation of a 12U travel team.

Hutchings, who played at Division I Binghamton, was a pitching coach at Binghamton after his playing days prior to forming High Heat.

He has spent some time in the Valley.

"I worked with Stealin' Home for years when they first started," said Hutchings, who worked with former Valley standouts Brendyn Stillman, Matt Williams, and Parker and Pierce Hendershot, "” all currently Div. 1 players, as well as Nate Sweet and Joe Horn among others.

"They were great kids, and they developed really well," he noted.

High Heat has also had several Valley players over the years, including Tioga's Peter Simmons and Dakota Skinner, and Athens' Sam Perri.

Hutchings, in conjunction with Hemp Geek AAU Sports, is looking to start with a 12U travel team in the Valley.

"We're tying to give some kids in the Valley an opportunity, and see if we can create some special things there - try to get some kids to the next level.

"We're looking to create a talent-based team," said Hutchings. "We're looking for kids with good character, but we're going base our picks on talent.

"We'll measure the kids by velocity, speed, and other tools, to put together a team to go to tournaments, and really compete.

We will be getting the info out soon," he added. "I encourage the kids in the Valley to try out."
