NTL GOLF: SECK, VanDUZER LEAD SAYRE TO THIRD; ATHENS FINISHES FIFTH (2020-09-23)

WAVERLY "” Sayre juniors Dylan Seck and Kannon VanDuzer finished fifth and sixth, respectively, to lead the Redskins to a third-place finish, and Athens sophomore Cameron Sullivan finished in the top-10 here Wednesday afternoon in NTL golf action at The Club at Shepard Hills.

North Penn-Mansfield remained unbeaten with a four-player aggregate score of 367, while Wellsboro was second at 374, and Sayre tallied a 382. Cowanesque Valley finished fourth with a 415, while Athens was fifth at 417, Towanda was sixth at 418, and Wyalusing was seventh at 439.

Seck shot a 43 on the front nine en route to an 89, while VanDuzer closed with a 43 on the back nine on his way to a round of 90.

Senior Zach Moore finished 15th for the Redskins with a round of 99, and sophomore Colton Watkins was 20th with a 104.

Sullivan shot a 96 to finish ninth for the Wildcats, while senior Carter Jones finished 19th with a 103. Senior Harley Sullivan carded a season-best 105, and senior Luke Jones tacked on a 113.

Wellsboro senior Brock Hamblin earned low-medal honors with an 84, while NP-M senior Ethan Weisskopf and sophomore Andrew Green finished second and third, respectively, with rounds of 85 and 87.

Sayre senior Torry Stark added a non-scoring round of 105 for the Redskins, while Athens sophomore Lucas Kraft had a 127, and sophomore Carson Smith tacked on a 128.

Athens had a number of players compete in nine-hole exhibition, led by Evan Cooper and Nicholas Jacob, who shot 54 and 57, respectively. Megan Collins shot a 59 for the Wildcats, while Isabelle Dahl had a 64, and Caydence Macik carded a 65.

Sayre's Travis Wibirt carded a 67 in exhibition.

The NTL golfers return to action Tuesday at the Tyoga Country Club in Wellsboro.
