NTL VOLLEYBALL: SAYRE DROPS FIVE-SET MARATHON TO WYALUSING (11 PHOTOS) (2020-09-24)
Valley Sports ReportSAYRE "” A young Sayre team took Wyalusing to the limit, but dropped a five-set marathon here Thursday night in NTL volleyball action.
The Lady Rams won the first set 25-12, but the Lady Redskins responded with a 25-21 win in the second set. Wyalusing gained the advantage with a 25-19 win in the third set, but Sayre again evened the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.
Wyalusing put the match away with a 15-9 in the decisive fifth set.
Elizabeth Boyle led Sayre with 37 setter assists, two service aces, and two digs, while Alex Frisbie had 26 digs and two assists, and Emma Smith had 10 assists, three aces, and two digs.
Gabrielle Shaw registered eight kills and two blocks of the Lady Redskins, while Gabbi Randall recorded five kills and three blocks, Gianna Quattrini had for kills, three aces, two digs, and two assists, Aliyah Rawlings added two kills and two assists, and Maddison Belles chipped in with two digs and two assists.
Sayre, now 0-2, returns to action Tuesday at North Penn-Liberty.
