SAYRE "” Short-handed Sayre had no answers for Wellsboro here Saturday morning in a 12-0 loss in NTL girls soccer action at the Lockhart Street Bowl.

The Lady Redskins, missing five starters, began the match with just 10 players, and lost two more to injuries. Wellsboro maintained a one-player advantage throughout the game, taking a player off the field after each Sayre injury - finishing the game in a 9-on-8 situation.

Jordyn Abernathy netted a hat trick in the first half,  and Kerrah Clymer and Jenna Boyce each added two goals as the Lady Green Hornets raced out to a 9-0 halftime lead.

Clymer finished off her hat trick early in the second half to make it 10-0.

Sarah Seeling, Molly Ingerick, Katherine DeCamp, and Cara Tennis scored one goal apiece for the

Clymer also had three assists, and Boyce, Tennis, and Madelyn Rudy were each credited with two assists.

Wellsboro had a 37-0 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 6-0 edge in corner kicks.

Sophomore Adrianna Barnhart recorded 25 saves in net for the Lady Redskins.

Sayre, now 1-4, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Towanda.
