THE VALLEY "” There are two Valley teams - Athens boys and Sayre volleyball - at home Thursday, while a third - Athens volleyball - was denied that opportunity.

The Lady Wildcats were scheduled to host powerhouse NP-L, but will now make its second trip there in nine days as NP-L refused to play at Athens, reportedly due to increasing Covid-19 numbers in Bradford County.

BOYS SOCCER
Troy (2-3) at Athens (9-2), 5:30 p.m.: 
The Wildcats are coming off a 3-0 loss to Wellsboro, while the Trojans dropped a 3-2 double-OT thriller at Towanda.

Earlier this season, Athens won 2-0 at Troy in the season opener.

Sayre (3-7) at Towanda (2-8), 6 p.m.: The Redskins are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss at NEB Tuesday, while the Black Knights edged Troy, 3-2, in a double-overtime thriller.

Earlier this season, Sayre rolled to an 8-3 home win over Towanda in the season opener.

VOLLEYBALL
Canton (5-0) at Sayre (0-8), 6 p.m.:
The Lady Redskins dropped a 3-1 decision to Williamson Tuesday night, while the Lady Warriors are coming off a sweep of Troy in its first action in two weeks.

Earlier this season, Sayre was swept by Canton.
 
Athens (7-4)  at NP-Liberty (7-0), 6 p.m. (Varsity only): The Wildcats are coming off a home-and-away split with Wellsboro - winning in five sets at home Tuesday, and losing by sweep at Wellsboro Wednesday, while NP-L swept NEB Tuesday.

Just nine days ago, Athens won the first set, but NP-L rallied to win 3-1.
