NTL GIRLS SOCCER: TOWANDA ROLLS TO 10-0 WIN OVER SAYRE (2020-10-22)

TOWANDA "” Towanda scored three goals in the first half, then put the game away early in the second half in a 10-0 win over short-handed Sayre here Thursday evening in NTL girls soccer action.

Olivia Sparbanie netted a hat trick for the Lady Black Knights, while Porschia Bennett and Mirra Neilson scored two goals apiece, and Saige Greenland, Bella Hurley, and Abby Locke each added one tally.

Sparbanie opened the scoring about 7 1/2 minutes into the game, and Bennet made it 2-0 at the 11-minute mark.

Locke, off a feed from Bennett, scored with 4:52 remaining in the first half to make it 2-0.

Greenland, Sparbanie, and Bennett scored in a five-minute span early in the first half to extend Towanda's lead to 5-0.

After a goal by Hurley made it 6-0, Neilson scored a pair of goals and Sparbanie finished off her hat trick in a seven-minute stretch to provide the final margin.

Towanda had a 44-3 edge in shots-on-goal, and a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Kyliee Thompson recorded 34 saves in net for the Lady Redskins.

Sayre, now 1-10, wraps up the regular season at home Saturday morning against Wyalusing.
