Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — Athens volleyball is the only team still standing in the Valley, and their trip to Tunkhannock Monday evening for the semifinals of the District-2-4 Sub-Regional volleyball playoffs is currently the only event on the docket this week.

Athens (11-6), the seventh seed, advanced with a five-set win over second-seed Greater Nanticoke, while sixth-seed Tunkhannock (7-7) upset third-seed North Pocono.

During the regular season, Tunkhannock was swept by Greater Nanticoke.

The winner will face the winner of the match between top-seed and unbeaten Berwick and fourth-seed Crestwood on Thursday at 5 p.m.
