IAC GIRLS BOWLING: WAVERLY SWEEPS SHORT-HANDED WATKINS GLEN (2021-01-14)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY - Sophomore Victoria Houseknecht led Waverly to its second sweep of the young season, this time over short-handed Watkins Glen Thursday afternoon in IAC Large School girls bowling action.
The Lady Wolverines rolled a 2,434 team series at the Valley Bowling Center, while the Lady Senecas, who had just four bowlers, rolled a 1,398 at Harborside Lanes in Watkins Glen.
Sophomore Victoria Houseknecht led Waverly with a 591 series, including a 233 game, while freshman Rachel Houseknecht had a 568, and senior Haley Kittle added a 503, including a 210.
Sophomore Shantilly Decker chipped in with a 449 series, and 8th-grader Serenity Clark chipped in with a 323.
Ava Cowan led Watkins Glen with a 392.
Waverly, now 8-0, returns to action Tuesday in a "virtual match" against Odessa-Montour.
