IAC BOWLING: TIOGA BOYS SWEEP O-M; LADY TIGERS DROP 3-1 DECISION (2021-01-22)

WAVERLY "” The Tioga boys, led by senior Kolton Pond and sophomore Gage Cain, swept past Odessa-Montour, while the Lady Tigers dropped a 3-1 decision Thursday afternoon in an IAC "virtual" bowling match.

BOYS
Tioga 4, O-M 0

Pond and Cain each rolled 600 series to lead IAC Small School Division-leading Tioga to a sweep of O-M.

The Tigers rolled a 2,537 team series at the Valley Bowling Center, while the Indians shot a 2,138 series at Harborside Lanes in Watkins Glen.

Tioga won the first game 960-768, then finished off the series with wins of 819-715, and 758-725.

Pond banged out games of 255, 190, and 182 for a 627 series, while Cain shot games of 224, 205, and 171 for a 600 series.

Rocco Fariello shot a 527 for the Tigers, while Frank Chapman had a 449, and Reed Cook added a 333.

Dom Elliott led O-M with a 512 series.

Tioga improves to 14-2 on the season.

O-M 3, Tioga 1

Tioga won the second game, and dropped the total-pinfall point by just 105 pins in a 3-1 setback against O-M.

The Lady Indians won the first game 699-493, but the Lady Tigers bounced back for a 665-579 win the second game. O-M closed out the match with a 643-598 win to take the total-pinfall point by a tally of 1,861 to 1,756.

Chloe Gillette led Tioga with a 367 series, while Cassie Birney shot a 350, Jaime Card rolled a 342, and BobbiJo Tarbox had a 341.

Alex Creller added a 322 for Tioga, and Destini Sweet tacked on a 313.

Tioga, now 9-5 on the season, returns to action Tuesday in a virtual match against Notre Dame.
