IAC BOYS BOWLING: CAIN, POND LEAD TIOGA IN SWEEP OF WATKINS GLEN (2021-01-29)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY - Sophomore Gage Cain and senior Kolton Pond banged out 600 series to lead Tioga to a sweep of short-handed Watkins Glen Thursday afternoon in a virtual IAC South boys bowling match-up.
Bowling at the Valley Bowling Center, the Tigers rolled a team score of 2,895, while the Senecas, competing with four bowlers, rolled a 1,636 series at Harborside Lanes in Watkins Glen.
Cain rolled a 278 game to wrap up his 692 series. It followed games of 212 and 202.
Pond rolled games of 193, 223, and 216 for a 632 series.
Seventh-grader Nick Slater shot a 548 for the Tigers, while Dylan Slater rolled a 540, Rocco Fariello added a 483, and Reed Cook tacked on a 366.
Michael Cook led Watkins Glen with a 465.
Tioga, now 17-3, takes on Candor Tuesday.
