IAC BOYS BOWLING: TIOGA TOPS NOTRE DAME, 3-1; LADY TIGERS SWEPT (2021-02-08)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY - The Tioga boys dropped the first point, but bounced back to win the next three win in a win over Notre Dame, while the Lady Tigers were swept in a virtual IAC bowling match Monday afternoon.
BOYS
Tioga 3, Notre Dame 1Sophomore Gage Cain banged out a 600 series to help Tioga to a 3-1 win over Notre Dame.
The Crusaders, bowling at the Rossi Lanes in Elmira, won the first game 954-881, but the Tigers, bowling here at the Valley Bowling Center, responded of wins of 962-794 and 994-871 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,837 to 2,619.
Cain rolled a 666 series on games of 213, 233, and 220, while senior Kolton Pond shot a 598 on games of 191, 201, and 206.
Dylan Slater had a 582 series, including a 217, for the Tigers, while Rocco Fariello had a 533, Nick Slater added a 458, and Reed Cook chipped in with a 372.
Cody Gonzalez led Notre Dame with a 560 series, while Brandon Hubbard shot a 531, including a 246 in the first game, and Connor Ryan added a 528.
GIRLS
Notre Dame 4, Tioga 0Mandy Gleason shot a 525 to lead Notre Dame to a sweep of Tioga.
The Lady Crusaders won the first game 634-582, then put the match away with wins of 684-525 and 692-492 for a total-final win of 2,010 to 1,599.
BobbiJo Tarbox led Tioga with a 399 series, and Chloe Gillette added a 370.
Jillian Whittaker shot a 406 for Notre Dame, and Erin Connolly added a 404.
Tioga returns to action Tuesday against SVEC.
