IAC BOWLING: SVEC BOYS, GIRLS SWEEP TIOGA (2021-02-09)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY - The SVEC boys clinched the IAC South Division title Tuesday with a sweep of Tioga, while the Lady Tigers also dropped a 4-0 decision in virtual bowling matches.
BOYS
SVEC 4, Tioga 0Garrett Lyndhurst and Joey Marsh each threw 600 series to lead SVEC to a sweep of Tioga.
The Eagles, bowing at the Owego Bowl, rolled a team series of 2,952, while the Tigers, in action at the Valley Bowling Center, rolled a 2,767.
SVEC edged Tioga 913-908 in the first game, then closed out the match with wins of 1,060-930 and 979-929.
Dylan Slater led Tioga with a 621 series on games of 191, 223, and 207, while Nick Slater rolled a 575, including a 222, and Rocco Fariello shot a 536.
Gage Cain had a 506 for the Tigers, while Kolton Pond added a 486, and Frank Chapman tacked on a 482.
Lyndhurst rolled a 644 series on games of 190, 253 and 201 to lead SVEC, while Marsh shot a 632 on games of 178, 196, and 258, and Kody Floyd added a 565 series.
GIRLS
SVEC 4, Tioga 0Mya Marsh led a balanced SVEC line-up in a sweep of Tioga.
The Lady Eagles shot a 2,169 team series, while the Lady Tigers had a 1,672.
Marsh led SVEC with a 485 series, while Olivia Bennett had a 466, Jannelle Marsh shot a 452, and Kaitlyn Floyd added a 413.
Jamie Card led Tioga with a 393 series, and Chloe Gillette shot a 375.
Tioga wraps up the regular season Wednesday against Waverly.
