The Wolverines are coming off a pair of lopsided wins over Candor, and had their games with Newark Valley this week postponed by Covid-19 protocol.
A late addition to the schedule has them playing tonight against Horseheads, which lost a 72-38 decision over Corning in its season opener.Canton (7-6) at Athens (9-7), 6 p.m. JV start:
The Wildcat are coming off a 63-51 win over Towanda Wednesday, while the Warriors slipped past Montgomery, 55-52.
Athens win snapped a four-game losing streak, while Canton has exchanged wins and losses over its last eight games.GIRLS BASKETBALL
Athens (13-3) at NEB (10-3), 6:30 p.m. varsity ONLY:
The Lady Wildcats are coming off a 51-21 win over Canton Wednesday night, while the Lady Panthers edged Sullivan County, 63-62, last Friday.
Earlier this season, Athens edged NEB, 58-53, in overtime.WRESTLING
Tioga (1-0) at Owego (1-0), 6 p.m.:
The Tigers rolled to a season-opening 63-9 win at Owego Wednesday night, while the Indians slipped past Edison, 31-30, via tie-breaker criteria.
The match of the night appears to be at 132 pounds, where returning state place-finisher Caden Bellis, ranked No. 1 in Section IV, takes on Owego’s Matt Laubach, who is ranked third.
