TOWANDA - Athens won 12 events of 18 events, and swept five of them, en route to a 103-47 win over Towanda here Tuesday afternoon in NTL Large School Division track & field action.

Senior Asher Ellis won three individual events, and junior Kyle Anthony won two.

Ellis won the discus with a toss of 143-feet, and senior Ian Wright was second at 112-feet, 6-inches.

Ellis also won the shot put with a heave of 48-feet, 2-inches, and Ian Wright was second at 36-feet, 11-inches.

Ellis won the javelin with a throw of 162-feet, 2-inches, and Ian Wright was third at 111-feet, 11-inches.

Anthony led a sweep in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 2:16.9, with senior Connor Dahl second at 2:20.7, and junior Justin Lynch third in 2:23.8.

Anthony also led a sweep in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:06.0. Dahl was second at 5:08.8, and junior Kaden Gorsline was third in 5:10.2.

Junior Matt Gorsline led a sweep in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 11:07.9, with Anthony second at 12:30.7, and Dahl third at 12:37.3.

Sophomore Jaden Wright won the 100-meter dash in 11.5 seconds, and freshman Ryan LaSusa was third in 12.0 seconds.

LaSusa led a sweep in the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.3 seconds, with senior John Ayres second in 25.8 seconds, and junior Ryan Thomson third in 26.5 seconds.

Lynch led a sweep in the 400-meter dash in a time of 59.4 seconds, while Ayres was second in 59.5 seconds, and sophomore Ethan Denlinger was third at 1:00.3.

The Wildcats also won the 400-, 1,600-, and 3,200-meter relays. (No names provided.)

Denlinger finished second in the high jump at 5-feet, 2-inches, and junior Brendan Jones was third at 4-feet, 10-inches.

Brendan Jones was second in the triple with with a distance of 32-feet, 6 1/2-inches. He finished third in the 300-meter hurdles in 51.3 seconds.

Jaden Wright finished second in the long jump with a leap of 15-feet, 8-inches, and junior Connor Brown was third at 15-feet 6 3/4-inches.

Junior Levi Kuhns finished third in the pole vault at 8-feet, 6-inches, and senior Carter Jones finished third in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 20.5 seconds.

Athens returns to action Friday at Williamson.
