WAVERLY "” The Naglee / Rynone's Phillies scored in every inning en route to a 20-14 win over the Tom's Hardware / Chandler's Antiques Yankees here Saturday in the opening game of the 2021 Waverly Little League Majors Division baseball season.

The Phillies built an 8-2 lead after two innings, but the Yankees answered with seven runs in the top of the third to take a 9-8 lead.

The teams traded runs in their next at-bats, leaving the Yanks up 11-10 after 3 1/2 innings, but the Phillies scored four in the bottom of the fourth and six more in the fifth to take a 20-11 lead.

Brody Lambert had four hits, including a double, and scored two runs to lead the Phillies at the plate, while Hayden Roskow had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and scored four runs, Rhylee Stotler had three hits, including a triple, and scored four runs, and Jessie Lantz had three hits, including two doubles, and scored one run.

Rylan Yeakel doubled and scored two runs in the win, while Jeremy Cleveland singled and scored one run, Danny Cummings scored five runs, and Quinn Lyons crossed the plate once.

Eric Lewis had three hits, including two doubles, and scored three runs to lead the Yankees at the plate, while Collin Wheeler tripled and singled, and scored three runs, Mason Apgar tripled and singled, and scored three runs, and Brandon Bennett singled twice and scored one run.

Chase Sims and Austin Burns each singled and scored one run for the Yankees, while Peyton Lawson added a single, and Caden Vanderhoof scored two runs.
