ATHENS — Williams Toyota erupted for 11 runs in the third inning to erase an early deficit in a 16-6 four-inning win over Landy & Rossetti here Tuesday in Athens-Sayre Little League Majors Division baseball action.

Landy & Rossetti scored five runs in the top of the first inning, and led 6-3 after two innings, but Williams Ford roared back to take a 14-6 lead after three innings, and ended the game via the “mercy” rule with two runs in the fourth inning.

Zach Fisher led Williams Toyota with three hits, including a double, one run scored, and five RBI, while Jacob Saxon singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in two runs, and Griffin Smith singled twice, scored two runs, and knocked in one run.

Kamdyn Wheeler had a singled, two runs scored, and four RBI in the win, while Joe Dickerson singled and scored three runs, and Ryan Hicks, Peyton Sinsabaugh, and Aiden Vanderpool each singled, scored one run, and drove in one run. Ben Johnson, Frisbie and Aydan Peterson each scored one run.

Wheeler started and pitched 2 2/3 innings for Williams Toyota, allowing six runs — three earned — on three hits, while striking out six and walking four. Dickerson pitched 1 1/3 innings of hitless relief, striking out four and walking two.

Chase Wheeler had one hit and scored two runs, while Shaine Strickland singled and drove in one run, and Isaac Roy singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run to account for Landy & Rossettie’s three hits.

Ahren McCarthy scored one run and drove in one run for L&R, and Cam Ross and Cy Yeager each scored one run.

Ross had the best turn on the mound for L&R. He allowed five runs — two earned — on four hits, while striking out two and walking two in two innings on the mound.
