CALDWELL, N.J. - Tioga grad Mariah Culver, a junior on the Caldwell University, is 8-0 in her last 10 appearances for the Lady Cougars, who had a nine-game win streak snapped Saturday.

On Saturday, Culver pitched a 1-hit shutout in Caldwell's 6-0 win over Jefferson in the first game of a doubleheader. She struck out five and walked none.

Culver allowed only a lead-off single in the second inning, and retired the final 18 batters she faced.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Culver gave up three hits in two scoreless innings.

In her last 10 appearances, Culver is 8-0 with a 1.30 ERA. She has fanned 45 and walked four in 54 innings of work.

Culver has not allowed a run in her last 16 innings.

On the season, Culver is 12-4 with a 2.50 ERA. She has 69 strikeouts and nine walks in 92 1/3 innings of work.

Caldwell, now 19-10-1, returns to action Wednesday in the CACC Tournament.
