ATHENS "” Johnny D's scored a run in the top of the fifth inning to pull out a 3-2 win over the Firemen here Saturday evening in Athens-Sayre Little League Majors Division baseball action.

Brendan Cooke and Nolan Raupers led off the game with singles for Johnny D's. Cooke scored on a passed ball to make it 1-0 and Raupers scored on an RBI single by Jordan Brown to make it 2-0.

An RBI single by Conner Davidson in the home half of the first put the Firemen on the board and trimmed the deficit to 2-1.

Matt Carlin's RBI triple for the Firemen in the second inning tied the game at 2-2.

Justin Koenig's RBI single in the top of the fifth inning gave Johnny D's a 3-2 lead.

Cooke earned the win on the mound for Johnny D's. He allowed one run on four hits, while striking out nine and walking none in 3 1/3 innings of work.

Brady Flynn started for Johnny D's, allowing two runs - both unearned - on two hits, while striking out four and walking non in 2 2/3 innings.

Koenig singled twice and drove in one run, and Cooke singled and scored two runs to pace Johnny D's at the plate, while Raupers singled and scored one run, Brown singled and drove in one run, and Flynn added a single.

Conner Davidson stroked three singles, scored one run, and drove in one run to pace the Firemen's six-hit attack, while Cartyr Cockroft doubled and singled, scored one run, and drove in one run, Carlin tripled and knocked in one run, and Shea Davidson scored one run.

Conner Davidson started for the Firemen, allowing two runs on three hits, while striking out five and walking none in two innings of work.

Carlin pitched 3 2/3 innings of relief, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out seven and walking one. Graham Wanck struck out the only batter he faced.
