TOWANDA "” Athens bounced back from a walk-off loss in the first game of a doubleheader to beat Towanda, 11-1, in the nightcap here Saturday in NTL junior high baseball action.

First Game
Towanda 5, Athens 4
Athens scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game, but Towanda answered with a run for a 5-4 walk-off win in the first game of the doubleheader.

Troy Rosenbloom had the key hit in the rally - a two-run single to tie the game. It was the junior Wildcats' only hit of the game.

Matthias Welles, Carson Rowe, Cooper Robinson and Keaton Sinsabaugh scored runs for Athens, and Rowe and Driesbaugh added RBI.

Athens, which drew eight walks, left eight runners on base in the game, including six in scoring position.

Rosenbloom started on the mound for Athens, allowing two unearned runs on one hit, while striking out three and walking one.

Dylan Saxon was tagged with the loss. He allowed three runs - two earned - on four hits, while striking out five and walking three.

Second Game
Athens 11, Towanda 1
Matthias Wells pitched four strong innings, and Cooper Robinson set the table offensively to lead Athens to an 11-1 five-inning win over Towanda in the nightcap.

Welles allowed an unearned run on one hit, while striking out eight and walking one to earn the win. Rosenbloom pitched a scoreless inning of relief, striking out two and allowing one hit.

Robinson had three hits, including a double, stole two bases, and scored three runs to lead the junior Wildcats' six-hit attack.

Rosenbloom, and Adam Kemp each singled and scored one run in the win, while Ryan Driesbaugh singled and drove in one run, Cylus Lantz and Elijah Hobday each scored two runs, and Dylan Saxon and Hayden Mercer both crossed the plate once.
