WILLIAMSPORT - The Athens-based Valley Storm 18U travel softball team went 4-0-1 over the weekend, and won the championship game here Sunday afternoon at the "Pink Out for Cancer" Tournament.

The Storm roster includes players from Athens, Waverly, Tioga, Towanda, Wyalusing, Rome Christian, Thomas A. Edison, Elmira, Elk Lake, and Minersville.

Pool Play
Valley Storm 6, Lady Panthers 2

The Storm scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth on its way to a 6-2 win over the Mountain Top, Pa.-based Lady Panthers in the opening game of pool play Saturday morning.

Trailing 2-1, Elmira's Shelby Smith smacked a two-run home run in the fourth to give the Storm a 3-2 lead. Athens' Addy Repsher added a sacrifice fly and Tioga's Megan Vance capped the rally with an RBI single to make it 5-2.

Rome Christian's Emma Repsher doubled and singled, and scored one run, and Towanda's Brea Overpeck singled twice and scored one run to pace the Storm at the plate, while Smith homered and drove in two runs, Athens' Harley Sullivan doubled and scored one run, and Edison's Reagan Seelye singled and scored one run.

Vance singled and drove in one run in the win, while Towanda's Maddie Maynard and Addy Repsher each knocked in one run, and Minersville's Aramie Arroyo scored one run.

Seelye earned the win for the Storm, allowing two runs on seven hits, while striking out seven and walking two in a six-inning, complete-game effort.

Valley Storm 3, Panther Select 3

The York, Pa.-based Panther Select scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to salvage a 3-3 tie with the Valley Storm Saturday morning in the second game of pool play.

Arroyo pitched four innings for the Storm, allowing one unearned run on three hits, while striking out six and walking two. Seelye pitched the final two innings, allowing two runs on three hits.

Emma Repsher and Arroyo each doubled and singled, scored one run, and drove in one run, and Sullivan doubled and singled, and scored one run to pace the Storm at the plate, while Maynard singled and drove in one run, Addy Repsher doubled, and Seelye added a single.

Valley Storm 13, Danville Lady Railers 0
The Storm scored five runs in the top of the first inning, and cruised to a, 13-0, four-inning win over the Danville Lady Railers Saturday afternoon to finish pool play at 2-0-1.

The Storm loaded the bases in the first inning on two walks and a hit batsman, before Arroyo was walked to force home a run, and Overpeck delivered a two-RBI double to make it 3-0. Maynard knocked home a run with a groundout, and the Storm scored its fifth run on an error.

Sullivan added a three-run home run in the third inning to give the Storm a 10-0 lead, and Maynard followed suit with a three-run round-tripper in the fourth to extend the lead to 13-0.

Arroyo earned the win with four innings of two-hit ball. She fanned 10 and walked none.

Overpeck doubled and singled, scored two runs, and drove in two runs, Sullivan homered, scored three runs, and had three RBI, and Maynard homered, scored one run, and had four RBI to pace the Storm's seven-hit attack.

Emma Repsher singled, scored two runs, and knocked in one run for the Storm, while Addy Repsher singled and scored one run, Seelye added a single, Arroyo scored one run, and drove in two runs, Towanda's Athena Chacona scored two runs, and Smith scored one run.

Semifinals
Valley Storm 9, Danville Lady Railers 7

In a rematch of Saturday afternoon's blowout win, the Valley Storm held on for a 9-7 win over the Lady Railers Sunday morning in the semifinals of bracket play.

The Storm took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a two-run double by Overpeck, but the Lady Railers answered with two runs in the bottom of the first and another in the second to take a 3-2 lead.

Sullivan doubled to lead off the top of the third, and later scored on a two-RBI double by Emma Repsher that put the Storm ahead 4-3.

The Lady Railers tied the game with a run in the bottom of the third, but the Storm scored runs in the top of the fourth on an error and an RBI single by Sullivan to take a 6-4 lead.

The Storm added to its lead in the top of the fifth on a two-out, two-run single by Maynard, and an RBI single by Addy Repsher to make it 9-4.

The Lady Railers scored three times in the bottom of the fifth, and had the tying run at the plate, but Seelye induced a grounder to Arroyo at first base for the final out.

Emma Repsher doubled and singled, scored two runs, and drove in two runs, while Sullivan doubled and singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run, and Addy Repsher singled twice, scored one run, and drove in one run to pace the Storm's 12-hit attack.

Arroyo singled twice and scored one run in the win, while Maynard singled, scored one run, and drove in two runs, Smith singled and scored two runs, Overpeck singled and had two RBI, and Waverly's Aubrey Ennis singled and scored one run.

Seelye earned the win, allowing seven runs - three earned - on nine hits in five innings. She fanned four and walked one.

Championship Game
Valley Storm 7, Lady Panthers 1

Arroyo threw a complete game to lead the Valley Storm to a 7-1 win over the Lady Panthers in the championship game Sunday afternoon.

Arroyo allowed one run on seven hits, while striking out nine and walking two in seven innings in the circle.

The Storm scored single runs in the first inning - on a solo home run by Smith - and in the third inning when Tioga's Austyn Vance doubled, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on an RBI groundout off the bat of Sullivan.

The Storm blew the game open with five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Maynard led off the inning with a double, and took third on a single by Ennis. Wyalusing Jennelle Johns ripped a line-drive RBI double to make it 3-0, and Austyn Vance followed with a two-run single to extend the lead to 5-0.

After a one-out single by Sullivan put runners at first and third, Seelye knocked home a run with a sacrifice fly, and Smith followed with an RBI single to make it 7-0.

Vance doubled and singled, scored two runs, and drove in two runs, and Smith homered and singled, scored one run, and had two RBI to lead the Storm at the plate, while Johns doubled, scored one run, and drove in one run, and Sullivan singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run.

Maynard doubled and scored one run in the win, while Ennis singled and scored one run, Emma Repsher and Arroyo each added a single, and Seelye drove in one run.

The Storm are back in action this weekend at the IUP Showcase in Indiana, Pa.
