CORTLAND "” The Elmira Heights-based Finger Lakes Falcons, which features four Waverly players, finished second at the Prep Baseball Report Northeast National 15U Qualifier here over the weekend.

The Falcons' rosters includes Waverly's Ty Beeman, Nate DeLill, Jay Pipher, and Joey Tomasso, as well as players from Horseheads, Watkins Glen, Elmira, and Haverling.

The tournament was played at different venues around Cortland, including Gutches Sports Complex, TCCC, and the Tully Ball Park.

Pool Play
Falcons 4, Clubhouse Prospect 0

Horseheads' Mason Holloway fired a no-hitter to lead the Falcons to a tournament-opening, 4-0, win over the Fairfield, Conn-based Clubhouse Prospect team Thursday night.

Holloway fanned 10 and walked two in seven innings of work.

Beeman singled and drove in two runs in the win, while Pipher and Tomasso each singled and scored one run.

Falcons 12, Northeast Pride '24 Prime 5
The Falcons built an 8-1 lead on its way to a 12-5 win over the Beach Lake, Pa.-based Northeast Pride Friday evening.

Beeman doubled and singled, scored one run and had five RBI, and Piper singled twice, scored three runs, and had three RBI to lead the Falcons at the plate, while Horseheads' Nate Levey doubled and singled and drove in three runs.

Pipher earned the win for the Falcons, allowing three runs - two earned - on five hits in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out two and walked three.

Beeman allowed one hit in a scoreless inning of relief.

Falcons 14, Accelerate Elite Baseball 1
The Falcons scored all 14 of their runs in their final two at-bats in a 14-1 five-inning win over the Whitesboro-, N.Y.-based Accelerate Elite Baseball Saturday afternoon.

Elmira's Damon Jackson belted a pair of triples and had three RBI, and Horseheads' Brody LIddy tripled, scored two runs, and had three RBI to pace the Falcons' seven-hit attack.

Tomasso singled, scored one run, and drove in one run in the win, while Beeman singled and knocked in one run, and Pipher and DeLiill each scored two runs.

Falcons 13, CNY Sports Academy 6
The Falcons scored eight runs in the top of the third inning to take control of the game en route to a 13-6 win over the Syracuse-bases CNY Sports Academy Saturday evening in the final game of pool play.

Tomasso earned the win in relief. Hw allowed one run on three hits, while striking out two and walking none in four innings.

Horseheads' Dominick Russ homered and drove in four runs, while Horseheads' Alex Daugherty tripled and doubled, and scored two runs, and Horseheads' Anthony Bifano singled twice, scored once run, and drove in two.

Tomasso singled twice, scored one run, stole three bases, and drove in two runs for the Falcons, while Pipher singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run, and Beeman singled and scored one run.

Falcons 14, Northeast Pride '24 Prime 4

The Falcons scored six runs in the booth of the third, then closed out the game via the 10-run "mercy rule" with two runs in the fourth inning for a 14-4 win over the Northeast Pride in a rematch of their pool play encounter.

Jackson homered, tripled, and singled, scored three runs, and drove in three runs and Daugherty tripled and singled, scored twice, and knocked in three runs to lead the Falcons at the plate.

Pipher scored one run and stole a base in the win, while Beeman drove in one run, and DeLill stole a base.

Championship Game
Clubhouse Scout 9, Falcons 1

The Fairfield, Conn.-based Clubhouse Scout team jumped out to an early lead on its way to a 9-1 win over the Falcons in the championship game Sunday afternoon.

Beeman and Pipher each singled, accounting for two of the three Falcons' hits in the loss. Russ had the other hit.

With the win, Clubhouse Scout  earn a bid to the PBR Fall Championships at Lake Point Georgia or Grand Park, Indiana.
