OWEGO - Nichols-Tioga split two games in double elimination play at the Owego Little League 10U Tournament here Saturday.
NTLL dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker to Johnson City (Greenberg) i 10C championship bracket, but rebounded with a 13-5 rout of Maine-Endwell (Cook) in an elimination game.
Johnson City 4, NTLL 3
JC grabbed a 4-2 lead with a three-run fourth.
NTLL trailed, 1-0, heading into the bottom of the third, but Colin Wilson led off with a triple and scored on Maison Fisher's double. Kayla Nelson put the team up with an an RBI single.
A three-run home run in the fourth gave the advantage back to JC, 4-2.
NTLL would make it 4-3 in the fifth after Jonah Palmer drew a base on balls and scored on a wild pitch.
The Johnson City pitcher retired the last four batters to secure the victory.
Wilson and Landon Carlucci had two hits apiece to lead NTLL, and Fisher and Nelson added one hit and one RBI each.
Maverick Thorpe pitched five innings of three-hit ball, striking out seven and walking five. Carlucci pitched the sixth, giving up one hit and striking out one batter.

NTLL erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull away.
With NTLL leading by a run, Powell got the surge started with a home run. Fisher walked, Liamm Comstock singled and Nelson brought in a run with a ground out. Eli Gage, Kyler Roberts and Carlucci drew walks, and Gage and Roberts scored on passed balls. Parker Jackson belted a double, scoring Carlucci, and Jackson scored on an error following his hit, making it 13-5.
Jackson finished the game with a hit, two runs and an RBI, Carlucci and Roberts scored two runs apiece, and Powell added a hit, run and RBI. Harold Corby, Fisher and Comstock each had a hit and a run; Nelson contributed a hit and RBI; Wilson pitched in with a hit; and Gage and Thorpe tacked on a run each.
