YOUTH BASEBALL (12U): NTLL ROLLS INTO U-E TOURNEY CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (2021-07-25)

ENDICOTT - Nichols-Tioga defeated Owego (Card), 10-1, and Union-Endicott, 13-3, here Saturday to roll into Sunday's 12C division championship game of the U-E Little League 12U All-Star Tournament.

NTLL 10, Owego 1
NTLL scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning to take control of the game. Talon Relyea, Jackson Bombard and Owen Parker singled to get things rolling. Gavin Kithcart and Kaiden Sindoni walked and singled, respectively, to give Nichols-Tioga a 3-0 lead. With one away, Brayden Lounsbury singled to score the final two runs.

NTLL made it 6-0 in the third with a single and three walks and 7-0 in the fourth on four walks.

Owego put its run on the scoreboard in the fifth as Wyatt Niles doubled and scored on a single by Lucas Mott.

NTLL tacked on a trio of runs in the fifth. Relyea singled, Bombard walked, Parker singled, and all three players scored on errors.

Parker finished the game 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI, and Lounsbury went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Relyea was 2-for-4 with two runs; Sindoni contributed a hit, run and two RBI; Bombard had a hit and scored twice; Josh Rought added a hit and a run; and Kithcart scored a run.

Niles paced Owego with a hit and a run, and Mott chipped in with a hit and an RBI. Evan Canfield added a hit.

Kithcart went the distance on the mound, earning the win with four strikeouts and two walks.

NTLL 13, U-E 3
Nichols-Tioga surrendered three runs in the top of the first, then shut down U-E the rest of the way.

NTL put together another five-run uprising in its half of the first. Relyea singled, Bombard tripled, Parker, Sindoni and Rought walked, Lounsbury and Jacob Guiles singled, and Bidwell walked. Relyea, Bombard, Parker, Sindoni and Rought all scored to put NTLL on top for good.

Nichols-Tioga tacked on four more runs in each of the next two innings.

Bombard was hit by a pitch to begin the NTLL half of the second, then Parker and Kithcart added RBI singles. After Rought walked, Lounsbury made it 8-3 with a ground out and Guiles doubled in a run.

U-E would load the bases in the third, but NTLL got out of the inning with a 6-4-3 double play.

The Nichols-Tioga half of the third saw Christian Crawn walk, Relyea single, and Bombard and Parker walk to make it 10-3. Relyea and Bombard scored on an error to give NTLL a 12-3 cushion. Kithcart would score the final run.

Relyea went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs and Guiles was 2-for-2. Bombard had a hit, three runs and an RBI; Parker and Kithcart pitched in with a hit, two runs and two RBI each; Lounsbury added a hit and three RBI; Rought scored twice; and Sindoni and Crawn added a run apiece.

Rought gave up two earned runs on one hit and four walks while striking out six over three innings. Relyea pitched the fourth, striking out three and walking one without yielding a hit.

The championship game against Greene begins at 3 p.m. at Northside Park's Logan Field.
