Kurstan Martin, a senior on the Utica volleyball team, is among the team leaders in several categories for the Lady Pioneers in several categories.
Martin leads Utica College with 71 service points and 59 kills. She is third on the team with 50 digs, and 10 service aces. She also has six blocks and three setter assists.
On Saturday, Martin, who has had double-digit kills in each of the last three matches, had a triple double to lead the Lady Pioneers to their first win of the season. She had 12 points, including one ace, 14 digs and 14 digs in a five-set win over Norwich, which is now 4-1.
Later in the day, Utica College dropped a five-set match to the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
Martin narrowly missed another triple-double, posting 19.5 service points, including four aces, a season-high 15 kills, and nine digs. She also had one block.
Martin also earned Utica College "Athlete of the Week" for her efforts.
Utica College, now 1-5, returns to action Monday at Hamilton College.
