WOMEN'S COLLEGE GOLF: TOMASSO'S 78 HELPS MERRIMACK TO WIN OVER FRANKLIN PIERCE (2021-09-15)

NASHUA, N.H. - Waverly grad Alex Tomasso, a junior on the Merrimack College women's golf team, shot a 78 to help the Lady Warriors to a two-stroke (304-306) win over Franklin Pierce in the fall season-opener Sunday afternoon at the Nashua Country Club.

Tomasso was 6-over par on the 5,965-yard, par-72 course. She was tied for third on the team.

Tomasso birdied the 420-yard, par-5 5th hole. She had 11 pars, including five in a row "”11th through 15th - on the back nine.

The average score of the 16 golfers in the match was 80.44.

Merrimack returns to action Monday and Tuesday at the Boston College Invitational.
