THE VALLEY "” There are plenty of Valley rivalries and league rivalries being renewed this week in soccer and volleyball action alike.

In all, there are 32 events on the weekly docket, including nine on Tuesday.

Here are some, not all, of the top events of the week:

MONDAY (4)
"¢  Sayre and Athens golfers return to action at the Towanda Country Club.

"¢  The Waverly girls travel 10 minutes east on I-96 to face Tioga on the soccer pitch.

TUESDAY (9)
"¢  Athens renews its volleyball rivalry at home against Sayre.

"¢  Athens hosts Wellsboro in a key NTL boys soccer contest.

"¢  The Waverly boys are on the road at SVEC in Large School soccer match-up.

"¢  Sayre hosts Canton in NTL cross country action.

"¢  Tioga hosts Edison and Notre Dame in IAC cross country action.

WEDNESDAY (4)
"¢  Athens hosts Wellsboro in an NTL girls soccer match.

"¢  Waverly renews its IAC volleyball rivalry when it hosts Tioga.

"¢  Waverly hosts SVEC under the lights in girls soccer action at Memorial Stadium.

"¢  Tioga hosts Moravia in Section IV field hockey action.

THURSDAY (5)
"¢  The Waverly girls host Notre Dame in an IAC swim meet.

"¢  The Waverly boys host Notre Dame under the lights in an IAC Large School contest.

FRIDAY (5)
"¢  Athens hosts Wyalusing on the gridiron at Alumni Stadium.

"¢  Sayre is on the road at Muncy in a key NTL Small School football match-up.

"¢  Tioga hosts longtime IAC rival S-VE on the volleyball hardwoods.

SATURDAY (5)
"¢  Tioga is on the road for a key divisional match-up against Walton.

"¢  Athens is at the Owego Cross Country Invitational.

"¢  The Tioga boys host O-M on the soccer pitch.
