WOMEN'S COLLEGE GOLF: WAVERLY GRAD TOMASSO LOGS TWO TOP-10 FINISHES IN A ROW (2021-10-06)

DORSET, VT - Waverly grad Alex Tomasso, a junior on the Merrimack College women's golf team, finished has finished in the top 10 in each of the Lady Warriors' last two tournaments.

Tomasso shot back-to-back rounds of 81 on Sunday and Monday to finish in a tie for sixth place at the Stonehill Invitational, played on the par-70, 5,601-yard Dorset Field Club.

Tomasso was fourth on the Merrimack team, which won the six-team event by 52 strokes.

At the Hartford Fall Invitational, played Sept. 25-26, Tomasso finished tied for 10th with a two-day total of 156. She shot a 75 in the first round, and an 81 on the second day on the par-72, 5,841-yard Gillette Ridge Country Club in Bloomfield, Conn.

Tomasso was second on the Merrimack team, which finished second in the seven-team field.

Sacred Heart edged Merrimack by six strokes to win the team total. Siena College finished third, one stroke behind Merrimack.

Merrimack College returns to action Oct. 11-12 at the Quinnipiac College at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn.
