WAVERLY - The Athens boys and girls both won team titles in the junior high race at the Tom Koons Valley Cross Country Invitational here Tuesday afternoon at the Waverly Glen.

BOYS
Athens 7, Waverly 14, Sayre Inc.
Graham Wanck and Eli Hicks finished 1-2 to lead the junior Wildcats to the win.

Wanck clocked in at 9:37 for the win, and Hicks finished in 10:12, while Waverly's Chase Hine was third in 10:41, and Athens' Ty Lezak was fourth in 11:08.

Athens' Zach Fisher finished fifth in 11:23, while Waverly's Finn Williams was sixth in 11:32, Athens Charan Venkataswamy was seventh in 12:58, and Athens' Isaac Roy (13:53) and Andrew DeForrest (13:55) was eighth and ninth, respectively.

Waverly's Mark Meyers finished 10th in 14:20, and Athens Arayan Gaur was 11th in 16:47.

Waverly's Lauren Gorsline won a tightly-contest girls race in a time of 11:09, with Sayre's Mackenzie Chamberlain the runner-up at 11:14, and Athens' Addison Bruns was third in 11:20.

Athens' Olivia Cheresnowsky finished fourth in 13:10, while Waverly's Taylor Sinsabaugh was fifth in 13:48, Athens' Kayla Marshall was sixth in 14:02, Athens' Victoria Gao was seventh in 14:45, Sophie Williams was eighth in 15:29, and Athens' Madeline Henderson was ninth in 17:38.
