IAC VOLLEYBALL: TIOGA ROLLS TO SWEEP OF NEWFIELD (2021-10-22)

TIOGA CENTER "” Tioga was nearly perfect in the first two sets of a 3-0 win over Newfield here Friday night in IAC Small School Division volleyball action.

The Lady Tigers, now 13-1, won by scores of 25-5, 25-1, and 25-18.

Senior Austyn Vance led Tioga with 18 service points, including six aces, and four digs, while junior Kyra Bailey had 16 points, including five aces, four setter assists, and two digs, and senior Mariah Nichols had 12 points, three kills, and three blocks.

Senior Julia Bellis had three points (two aces), eight kills, and three blocks in the win, while senior Nina Spano had three points, four kills, one block, and six digs, senior Molly Bombard had three points and 13 assists, and senior Emme Hall added four kills and one block.

Brianna Smith led Newfield with three kills and two service aces, and Andrea Edwards added two kills and one block.

Tioga returns to action Saturday morning at Waverly. Game time is 10 a.m.

JV: Tioga swept the junior varsity match by scores of 25-8 and 25-11.

Emily Bidwell led Tioga with 15 points and three kills, while Layni Whitmore had 10 points and four kills, and Joslyn Maciak had six points, 12 assists, and two kills.

Kali Bailey had nine points for the junior Tigers, while RaeAnne Feeko had eight points, five assists, and one block, Haley Powell added four kills, Sadie Parker doled out five assists, and Megan Vance chipped in with five kills and two points.
