Valley Sports ReportENDWELL "" The Waverly girls will be in action this afternoon at the Section IV, Class B Swimming Championships at Maine-Endwell High School. The start time is 4:30 p.m.
The top 16 individuals in each event, and the top eight foursomes in each relay will advance to Saturday's Section IV Championships.
Eighth-grader Mira Kittle is Waverly's highest-seeded swimmer. She is the second seed in the 50-yard freestyle, and is also the second seed in the 100-yard backstroke, while junior Josie VanDyke is the 15th seed in the backstroke.
Junior Sophia DeSisti is the third seed in the 100-yard freestyle, and senior Nicole Bunke is the 14th seed.
Senior Lourden Benjamin is the fourth seed in the 200-yard IM, and senior Willow Sharpsteen is the eighth seed. Benjamin is also the fourth seed in the 500-yard freestyle, and senior Delaney Vascoe is the sixth seed.
Sharpsteen is the fifth seed in the 100-yard butterfly, and Robinson is the ninth seed, while Vascoe is the sixth seed in the 100-yard breaststroke.
VanDyke is the ninth seed in the 1-meter diving competition, while junior Abby Knolles is the 13th seed. (The diving competition will be held Friday at M-E.)
DeSisti is the 11th seed in the 200-yard freestyle, and Robinson is the 12th seed.
The Lady Wolverines are seeded third in both the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relays. They are the fifth seed in the 400-yard freestyle.
