COLLEGE WRESTLING: ATHENS GRAD BURKHART SPLITS FIRST TWO MATCHES OF SEASON AT LEHIGH (2021-11-09)

A.J. Burkhart, a sophomore on the Lehigh University wrestling team, split a pair of decisions as Lehigh, ranked 24th in the nation, opened the season with a loss to Campbell and a win over Oregon State here Saturday.
In Lehigh's 22-11 loss Campbell, Burkhart , who is starting at 184 pounds, dropped a 4-2 overtime decision to Caleb Hopkins, who is ranked 18th in the nation.
In the nightcap, Lehigh topped Oregon State, 21-12.
With the match tied at 12-12, Burkhart scored four takedowns to forge a 10-4 win over Mason Reiniche to put Lehigh in the lead for good.
Troy grad Sheldon Seymour dropped a 3-2 decision to Campbell's Anthony Molton in the opening match of the dual.
Later in the day, in an extra match, Seymour edged Campbell's Korbin Mink, 3-2.
Lehigh returns to action Sunday at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Manheim, Pa.
