Valley Sports ReportROCHESTER - Athens grad
Abby Sindoni, a sophomore on the Roberts Wesleyan women's soccer team, and her teammates experienced the high and low of college athletics in their last two games of the season.
The Lady Redhawks rolled to a 10-0 win - their seventh straight to end the regular season - over Lincoln University Saturday to clinch their first berth in the East Coast Conference tournament since 2016.
Their late-season run came to a screeching halt, however, with a 5-0 loss to top-seeded Molloy College Thursday night.
On Saturday, Sindoni netted a hat trick and doled out two assists in the win over Lincoln.
Sindoni assisted on the first two goals to help Roberts Wesleyan to a 2-0 lead in the 13th minutes. She scored an unassisted goal in the 18th minute to make it 3-0.
Sindoni scored her next two goals 9 1/2 minutes apart late in the first half to make it 6-0 on the season.
Sindoni, who did not register a goal or an assist in her first six games this season, scored nine goals and dished out three assists on the season - all in a seven-game span that coincided with the Lady Redhawks' seven-game win streak.
For her career, Sindoni has 12 goals and three assists in 19 games.
Roberts Wesleyan finishes the season at 7-8-1.
