Brady Worthing, a freshman on the Clarion wrestling team, posted a 2-2 record Sunday here at the Bearcat Open.
Worthing opened the day with a 7-5 overtime win over American University's Ryan Zimmerman, then forged a 16-3 major decision over Columbia's McCoy Pace, thanks in large part to three sets of near-fall points in the second period.
Worthing was pinned in 4:13 in the quarterfinals by Franklin & Marshall's Wilfredo Gill, then dropped a 10-5 decision to Gannon University's Jimmy Ryan in his first consolation bracket match.
Clarion returns to action Saturday at the Shorty Hitchcock Open at Millersburg University.
